What makes Burgklause special
If you walk past on Burgstraße, you won’t immediately recognise Burgklause as a queer pub. Inside you’ll find a tiled floor, portraits of stars on the wall and a row of wooden penises on the bar, which regulars like to smile about. Guests and Google reviews repeatedly describe the staff as very friendly.
The crowd is older, and most guests are regulars who have known each other for years. Newcomers are quickly welcomed into the group. In summer most people sit outside the pub until late in the evening.
Prices are fair: Gilde Ratskeller in a half-litre glass costs €4.90, Franziskaner €4.70, long drinks such as vodka lemon or Bacardi cola €7.50, and shots from €4.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a cosy pub with regulars aged 50 and up
- want to sit outside in summer
- want to drink a beer at the bar in peace
Not ideal if you …
- want to dance or do karaoke, Bar Romantis is the place for that
- want to party late, during the week it closes at 11 pm
