What makes Bärenhöhle special
Bärenhöhle is on Schönhauser Allee in Prenzlauer Berg, near the Schönhauser Allee S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. While most gay bars are concentrated in Schöneberg, it is one of the few gay pubs in northern Berlin.
As the name suggests, the bar is aimed above all at the bear community: hairy, bearded and often burlier men and everyone who is into them. The mood is pub-like and relaxed, and you quickly get chatting at the bar.
It is open Monday to Friday from 6 pm and Saturday from 8 pm, until 3 am each night. It is closed on Sundays. Tipsy Bear on Eberswalder Straße is two U-Bahn stops away.
A good fit if you …
- are a bear or into bears
- are looking for a relaxed pub without party stress
- are out and about in Prenzlauer Berg or Pankow
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out on a Sunday, it’s closed then
- want to dance
- are looking for a young scene crowd
