What makes the Black Eagle special
The Black Eagle is on Church Street in the heart of the Village and has been one of its fixtures since 1997. Downstairs there are bars and a small dance floor in a dark industrial look, upstairs a men-only playroom. The roof terrace is especially busy on Sunday afternoons.
At weekends theme parties with guest DJs set the programme, plus pup, gear and naked nights. A stricter dress code may apply on such nights; on normal nights casual clothes are totally fine. Cash is the most practical.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is made up of men from the leather, rubber and uniform scene, and the bear scene has long felt at home here too. Newcomers are explicitly welcome. The roof terrace and the relaxed, open atmosphere get praise.
A good fit if you …
- like leather, rubber and gear
- are looking for cruising
- want to sit on a roof terrace on a Sunday
Not ideal if you …
- are out with a mixed group
- are looking for a classic gay bar to dance
