What makes Blue Moon special

Blue Moon has shaped Baltimore Avenue since 1981 and is regarded as the place where the queer community from the greater Washington area meets in Rehoboth. Despite the name it is not a hotel, but a restaurant, bar and lounge. In the evening there is dinner with specials such as Tasting Tuesday and Steakhouse Night, and shows take place in the Atrium Lounge.

The property has been put up for sale, but according to the operators the business continues and started its new season in February 2026.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is mixed, with many middle-aged and older gay men, regulars from the region and summer visitors. The early-evening happy hour is a popular meeting point, and on Sundays the drag bingo brunch draws people in.
