What makes Ciemnia stand out

“Ciemnia” means darkroom, and that’s exactly how the club is set up: everything kept dark, with a bar, a small dance floor, seating areas, cabins and a large darkroom maze. According to Google, Ciemnia is at Świętego Filipa 7 north of the Old Town; older guides still give Krowoderska 31. Entry is by ringing the bell, and the fee is paid in cash.

Its opening hours set it apart: during the week it’s open until 6 am, and on Fridays and Saturdays even until 10 am. According to In Your Pocket, there’s an underwear party on the second Saturday of the month and a naked party on the last Sunday of the month, plus techno nights.

Atmosphere and crowd

Guests praise the atmosphere, the music and some bartenders by name. Things usually only get going after 2 or 3 am, when the other clubs close. The crowd is male, with a broad mix of ages.
