What makes Club Papuga stand out
“Papuga” means parrot, and the name says it all: kitschy wallpaper, plastic plants and a giant disco ball above one of the two floors define this basement club on Dietla, right on the border between the Old Town and the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. There’s also a garden.
It’s open from Thursday to Saturday, until 6 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The programme features DJ sets and dance parties with pop, plus drag shows, queer bingo and karaoke. There’s no dress code.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is young and mixed; according to guests it’s easy to get chatting, and the music gets praise. Early in the evening it’s often empty, but after midnight it fills up quickly.
A good fit if you …
- are between 20 and 30 and want to dance to pop
- want to party without a dress code
- want to be out until 6 am at the weekend
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out from Sunday to Wednesday
- are looking for a quiet bar to talk
