Poland has two faces: lively, open cities and a conservative hinterland. Warsaw and Kraków offer a growing scene with drag, clubs and big Pride marches, while smaller towns have only a few venues.
Legal situation: Poland recognises same-sex couples (as of 2026) neither through marriage nor registered partnership; the constitution defines marriage as a union of a man and a woman. In November 2025 the European Court of Justice ruled that same-sex marriages concluded in other EU states must be recognised. Discrimination in employment is prohibited, but specific protection against hate crimes based on sexual orientation is lacking.
