What makes Lluvia stand out

Lluvia is on Telok Ayer Street, a few minutes’ walk from Neil Road and Lau Pa Sat. The name is Spanish for rain, and the bar’s motto is “There will be no rainbow without lluvia”. There’s now also an outpost in Bangkok.

The centrepiece is the karaoke system. The team likes to sing along, and occasionally there are drag performances and special events announced on Instagram. It’s busiest on Fridays and Saturdays, when the bar is open until 3 am.

Atmosphere and crowd

The atmosphere is friendly and easygoing. The crowd is mainly bears, chasers and their friends from Singapore, and travellers are warmly received. In Google reviews several guests describe how the host spoke to them on the street and invited them in. During the week it’s relaxed, and the staff and cocktails get particular praise.
