What makes Mann’s Street stand out
Mann’s Street is on the second floor of a commercial building on Mannerheimintie, Helsinki’s main street. Since 1998 the bar has been a fixture of the scene, traditionally aimed at men but open to everyone.
The heart of the evening is the karaoke system, which guests say gets plenty of use. People mainly sing Finnish Schlager and pop, with lots of feeling and little shyness. Beer and cocktails are considered good, and they’re cheaper during happy hour.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is rather mature and mostly local, and the mood is familiar and relaxed. Guests describe the bar as a little quirky but endearing. According to reviews, even guests who wander in by chance are warmly received and sing along.
A good fit if you …
- like singing or listening to karaoke
- like a mature, local crowd
- want to experience an institution of the scene
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a young party crowd
- want to dance
