What makes Or Bar special

In 2022 Or Bar took over the premises of the legendary Gold Coast, which didn’t reopen after the pandemic. It has become a lounge with plush banquettes, grey curtains and a large, curving chandelier above the bar. The whole thing feels more like a hotel bar or a successful Palm Springs dinner party than a club.

During the day it runs as a café with coffee, tea, small snacks and Wi-Fi, and laptops and dogs are welcome. In the evening the menu features signature cocktails like the OR-Tini.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is mixed, lots of gay men, often a bit older, plus couples and groups of friends. Time Out describes the guests as „handsome daddies“. People appreciate that guests here actually talk to each other instead of just looking at their phones.
