What makes Hi Tops special

Hi Tops started in 2012 in San Francisco’s Castro and came to Santa Monica Boulevard in 2018, with a third offshoot following in Los Feliz in 2023. The concept: a big, bright room, lots of screens for football, basketball and other games, jerseys on the walls and a terrace.

The menu offers decent bar food, with the chicken burger getting particular praise. There are also signature cocktails like the Mr. Clutch. On big game days and weekend afternoons it’s often packed.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is sporty, cheerful and mostly male, and many come after work for a beer or to pre-drink. The atmosphere is relaxed and uncomplicated, and on Thursdays it gets noticeably flirtier with the go-gos.
