Praia da Galheta is an undeveloped beach on the east coast of the island, reachable only on foot via a path from Praia Mole. For decades it has been the best-known gay beach in Florianópolis.

What makes Praia da Galheta stand out
Galheta lies in a nature reserve and feels wild and quiet, especially on weekdays. Visitors praise the scenery and the water. Whether nude bathing is allowed is disputed: since 2016 the former naturist permit is considered revoked, and police patrol in summer. A robbery on the path was reported in 2026.
