What makes Rasputin stand out

Rasputin is on a quiet residential street in the Oltrarno and is considered Florence’s first secret bar. From outside only a brass bell gives the bar away, then a staircase leads down to a red cellar room with vintage furniture, animal skulls, old prints in gold frames, candlelight and an old piano.

Behind the bar is head bartender Daniele Cancellara, and the cocktail menu is creative and changes with the seasons. Retro music plays in the background, and your phone should ideally stay in your pocket.

Atmosphere and crowd

Google reviews especially praise the special ambience and the attentive service. The crowd is mixed: couples, groups of friends, locals and travellers. For an explicitly gay night, move on afterwards to Crisco in the old town or to Fabrik in Calenzano.
