Florence is a feast for the eyes – the gay scene is small, but it changed noticeably in 2026. After the closure of the two scene bars in Santa Croce, nightlife today mainly takes place in clubs, the sauna and at party series.
The scene
For a long time Piccolo Café and Queer in Santa Croce were the meeting places for the first drink – both closed in March 2026. The constant is the Crisco Club near the cathedral, a men’s club with a bar and darkroom. If you prefer something bigger, take the train to Fabrik in Calenzano. During the day and early evening, the Florence Baths near the station are the top address, and for a stylish cocktail in the Oltrarno the mixed Rasputin is recommended.
When to go?
- June – Toscana Pride: Tuscany’s Pride moves to a different city every year (Grosseto in 2026); special trains run from Florence. (Check dates with the organiser)
- June to September – Pride River: Arcigay Firenze’s summer series at Ultravox on the Prato della Tinaia, with ballroom, comedy and drag days right on the Arno. (Check dates with the organiser)
Our favourites
- Crisco Club – the reliable fixture in the heart of the old town
- Florence Baths – roof terrace with a whirlpool in summer

Practical tips
- For Crisco, Fabrik and the sauna you need a membership card (ANDDOS or club card), which you can usually get right at the entrance – bring ID.
- Fabrik in Calenzano is easy to reach by regional train towards Prato; plan on a taxi for the journey back late at night.
- Older guides still list Piccolo Café, Queer and Tabasco – check current party series on Instagram when you’re there, as the scene is in a state of flux.
