What makes Sandy Bay stand out
Sandy Bay is quiet and surrounded by rocks, with no kiosks or beach bars. If you make the walk, you’ll find fine white sand and waves that also attract surfers. Nude bathing isn’t officially permitted here but has been tolerated for decades; recently there have been reports of checks.
A good fit if you …
- want to sunbathe nude in seclusion
- would like to combine hiking and the beach
Not ideal if you …
- need facilities such as toilets or food
Our tip: Bring water, sun protection and sturdy shoes; the Atlantic water is cold even in summer.
