What makes The Court special

The venue on Beaufort Street, where the city centre meets Northbridge, has been a meeting place for the queer community since the early 1990s. Its heart is the large courtyard, where pub food is served during the day and wood-fired pizza after sunset.

Upstairs is Verdict, an area for drinking and dancing with a roof terrace. There are also DJs, drag brunches, full moon parties and the Pride Street Party. The Drag Factory on Wednesdays is the fixed date of the week.

Atmosphere and crowd

Early in the evening The Court is a sociable courtyard pub; later the dance floors get fuller and louder. On Fridays and Saturdays the courtyard fills up from early evening, and many move on to Connections afterwards.

The crowd is broadly mixed: gay men, lesbians, bears and groups of friends, plus guests from the neighbourhood. With more than 2,100 reviews and 4.3 stars, The Court is one of Perth’s most popular queer venues.
