What makes the hotel special

The hotel features on two queer travel portals: Travel Gay recommends The Passage in its Basel selection for its location and price, and GayOut lists it as a gay-friendly hotel (not a gay venue). It is centrally located in Grossbasel, with the theatre and Kunstmuseum a short walk away. Basel’s scene is small and spread out; according to GayOut there is no dedicated gay bar any more, and many people go to Zurich for bigger parties.

Rooms and amenities

Besides a bar and terrace there is a gym and a sauna, and according to reviews guests receive a public transport ticket. The staff and cleanliness are especially praised; some guests found the rooms too warm in summer.
