What makes The Street special
The Street is on the corner of Picardy Place and Broughton Street, right in the Pink Triangle with most of Edinburgh’s gay bars. Upstairs is a bright bar with big windows from which you can watch the goings-on outside; downstairs is the nightclub.
Extended opening hours apply during the festival in August and in December.
Atmosphere and crowd
During the day and early evening many come for a coffee or a first drink; later it gets louder and busier. The crowd is mixed, mostly between 25 and 45.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a drink with a view of the action
- want to go straight from the bar to the club on a Friday or Saturday
- are out late during the festival
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a quiet pub atmosphere – the Regent Bar is better for that
- are looking for a men-only crowd
