What makes Las Vegas stand out
Las Vegas is on Infanta where Centro Habana meets Vedado. It’s state-run and has been a fixed meeting point of Havana’s gay scene for decades; Lonely Planet calls it a landmark with the city’s most popular regular drag shows.
The show usually starts around 11 pm: dance, comedy sketches and drag, including the ensemble Divino. The room is fairly small, and on busy nights a queue forms. Because of the power cuts in Cuba, a night can be cancelled at short notice, so ask at your accommodation beforehand.
Atmosphere and crowd
The audience is mainly Cuban, joined by curious travellers and straight guests too. It’s busiest at weekends. Guests praise the colourful, professional shows, friendly waiters and fair drink prices.
A good fit if you …
- want to experience Cuban drag cabaret
- like partying among locals
- can stay up late
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a modern lounge
- go to bed early
