What makes Silver Future special
Silver Future is probably Berlin’s most multicultural queer bar: you hear English and Spanish here at least as often as German. At the front is a warmly lit bar with high tables, and the back room is stylishly furnished with chandeliers and coloured lamps.
The crowd is much younger than at many other queer bars, almost everyone is between 20 and 40. Unlike the mostly gay bars in Schöneberg, Silver Future is queer mixed and explicitly sees itself as a safe space, especially for FLINTA people. There is a dedicated FLINTA night and a 40-plus night.
Prices are cheap for Berlin. Weserstraße is full of life in the evening, with restaurants and bars inviting you to sit outside in summer. Möbel Olfe in Kreuzberg is the fitting counterpart on the other side of the canal.
A good fit if you …
- are looking for a genuinely queer mixed bar
- are between 20 and 40 or like that crowd
- appreciate an international crowd
- want cheap drinks
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out on a Sunday – it is closed then
- are looking for a men-only bar
- are looking for a 50+ crowd
