What makes SX stand out

SX is on Avenida Ponce de León, within walking distance of La Placita and clubs like Toxic. You go down a few steps. Downstairs there are two dance floors side by side: one plays circuit, the other reggaetón. There are also two bars and a men-only darkroom where phones aren’t allowed.

Go-go dancers perform every night, and occasionally there’s drag. You’ll need cash to tip the dancers. After a certain time the door is sometimes closed for licensing reasons; just knock.

Atmosphere and crowd

The crowd is mostly men over 30, and the vibe is masculine and cruisy. Before midnight it’s empty; after that it goes on until the early hours. Guests praise the music, the atmosphere and the cheap drinks.
