Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián in January
What makes La Sombrilla Rosa stand out
The small bar is on Calle San Sebastián in the north of the old town. You’ll recognise it by its bright pink umbrella. Drinks are cheap and quickly poured, typically margaritas, mojitos and Jell-O shots, plus deals like three Medalla beers for 5 dollars. There are theme nights, drag, live music and Latin DJs.
It’s busiest in January during the Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián. Walking around the old town with a drink is prohibited, so on busy nights guests stand right outside the door.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mixed, queer and fairly young. Many locals treat it as their regular haunt, joined by tourists. Guests praise the music, the low prices and the laid-back vibe.
A good fit if you …
- want to start your evening in the old town on a budget
- want to meet locals
- like live music and drag
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for a quiet cocktail bar
- want to eat there too
