Berlin’s Thursday party
Chantal’s House of Shame has been a fixture of Berlin’s queer party scene for more than 20 years and for many the start of a long weekend. Today the party runs at Lokschuppen on the RAW site in Friedrichshain, right by the Warschauer Brücke. The club used to be called Suicide Club.
Musically the night runs under the motto “Super Disco”. People party into the morning, and the party only ends around 8 am.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is queer mixed and mostly middle-aged, and the party has built up a very good reputation over the years. Even late at night there is often still a long queue at the door, and it’s not unusual to wait half an hour. The queer club Die Busche is right next door.
A good fit if you …
- want to party as early as Thursday
- want to experience a party with more than 20 years of history
- like a middle-aged crowd
Not ideal if you …
- want to go out at the weekend, the party only runs on Thursdays
- are looking for a quiet bar
