What makes Phi stand out
Phi is on Ahad Ha’Am, very close to Rothschild Boulevard. Its heart is the garden, a planted open-air courtyard that Time Out calls one of the city’s most beautiful lounge bars. Inside there are dimly lit nooks and lots of wood.
By day people sit here with laptops and coffee; in the evening the garden becomes a party venue. House and techno dominate musically, plus theme nights ranging from nostalgia to raves dedicated to individual pop stars. On many nights entry is free until midnight. For Pride 2026 there was a dedicated Pride weekend.
Atmosphere and crowd
The crowd is mixed, queer and straight, relaxed and typically Tel Aviv. Guests praise the garden, the warm atmosphere and the open, welcoming mood for the LGBTQ community. Phi isn’t an exclusively gay bar, but queer guests naturally feel at home here.
A good fit if you …
- want to start the evening in the open air
- want to dance to house and techno
- like a mixed, open scene
Not ideal if you …
- are looking for an exclusively gay bar
- are planning a quiet evening to talk
