Bolivia is an Andean country with a strong Indigenous culture, where queer life is visible mainly in the big cities. There are small scenes in La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba; Pride marches take place in several cities at the end of June, and the coalition COALIBOL organises a national LGBTIQ+ march every year.
Legal situation: The constitution protects against discrimination based on sexual orientation, legal gender can be changed since 2016, and in August 2026 the first same-sex marriage was registered following a court ruling; a general statutory regulation is still pending.
