Naples is loud, warm and welcoming – and its queer scene lives on the squares rather than behind club doors. Southern Italy’s first Pride took place here 30 years ago.

Around Piazza Bellini

There’s no permanent gay club, but there is Piazza Bellini: in the evening queer Naples sits outside bars such as Lemme Lemme. Dancing happens at party series such as Anatema @ Shine on Saturdays. If you prefer something more direct, head to Depot with its leather and naked nights or the bear-friendly Cactus Club. During the day, Blu Angels at the Centro Direzionale is the top address.

When to go?

• June – Napoli Pride: A big Pride finale with a parade to Piazza Dante; on 27 June 2026 Pride celebrated its 30th anniversary, along with a ten-day Pride Park at Palazzo Fuga. (Check dates with the organiser)
• September to June – party season: When it gets cooler, the roving gay parties such as Same Party and Anatema are in full swing on Saturdays; in high summer the scene moves to the coast.
