Guadalajara is considered Mexico’s gay capital, and you can feel it every weekend in the Centro. Between cantinas, drag stages and mega-clubs almost everyone finds their kind of evening here, often at very friendly prices.
Centro & Colonia Americana
The heart of the scene beats in the Centro Histórico, especially around Calle Enrique González Martínez and Prisciliano Sánchez, where bars such as Six Colors and Eagle GDL are only a few steps apart. At weekends the crowds head to Babel with its four areas, while the chic Envy in Lafayette attracts the table-reservation crowd. If you want a laugh, head to Colonia Americana for the drag cabaret La Casa de las Flores. For fetish fans, Voltio is the top address. Most bars open early, but they only fill up after midnight.
When to go?
- June – Marcha del Orgullo: In 2026 the Pride parade went from Glorieta La Minerva to Glorieta Niños Héroes on 6 June, followed by the Festival Orgullo. The organisers expected more than 200,000 people.
- All year – weekends in the Centro: From Thursday to Saturday, bar-hopping around Calle Enrique González Martínez is the thing to do, with drag shows almost every night.
Our favourites
- La Casa de las Flores – drag comedy with real audience interaction
- Six Colors – cheap cocktails on the roof terrace

Practical tips
- Many bars, such as Taberna de Caudillos, only take cash. Always carry pesos, including for admission at weekends.
- For Envy and the popular drag nights at La Casa de las Flores, it’s worth booking via Instagram or WhatsApp.
- At night it’s better to take an Uber or DiDi rather than walk through empty streets in the Centro.
