Santiago’s scene has one address: Bombero Núñez in the artists’ quarter of Bellavista. Add to that Fausto, a disco that has been writing queer history since 1979.
Bellavista
Along a few hundred metres of Bombero Núñez the bars line up one after another: at Contramano Restobar people warm up with cabaret, at Dionisio and Moulin Bar Santiago drag queens take the stage, and Bar 105 draws a crowd with fetish theme nights. To dance until morning, take a taxi to Fausto in Providencia. The partying starts late: the clubs are usually empty before 1am.
When to go?
- June – Marcha del Orgullo: In 2026 the Pride march set off on 27 June from Plaza Baquedano and moved along the Alameda past La Moneda; check the 2027 date with the organiser.
- October – Fausto anniversary: Fausto celebrates around its birthday every year; the party for its 47th anniversary on 23 October 2026 is invitation-only.
Our favourites
- Fausto – a cult disco with almost 50 years of history
- Bombero Núñez – the whole scene on one street

Practical tips
- Bellavista is lively in the evening, but late at night it’s better to take a taxi or use a ride-hailing app to get home.
- Many bars are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; in Santiago the weekend starts on Wednesday.
- Always carry your ID card or passport, as many clubs check consistently.
