Croatia combines the lure of the Adriatic with a scene centred mainly in Zagreb. On the coast there are hardly any dedicated venues, but plenty of relaxed mixed bars and unofficial gay beaches.
Legal situation: Since 2014 there has been a registered life partnership (životno partnerstvo) with largely marriage-like rights; since the 2013 referendum the constitution has reserved marriage for a man and a woman. Discrimination based on sexual orientation is prohibited, and as an EU member Croatia is bound by European equal treatment rules.
