Norway is one of the pioneers of LGBTQ equality and a relaxed, safe destination for queer people. The scene is concentrated in Oslo, but Bergen and Trondheim are also very open.
Legal situation: Same-sex marriage with full adoption rights has applied since 2009. Discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is comprehensively prohibited, legal gender can be changed by self-declaration since 2016, and conversion therapy has been banned by law since 2023.
