Raleigh

Raleigh is the capital of North Carolina and part of the Research Triangle with Durham and Chapel Hill. The queer scene is modest in size and concentrated in a few long-standing venues in and around Downtown.

The scene

The main venues are in the Warehouse District and to the west of it: Legends Nightclub moved to W Cabarrus St in October 2026, and Flex is on W Hargett St. You’ll find more queer bars and clubs in nearby Durham.

When to go

  • October 2026: Legends’ opening weekend at its new location (23 to 25 October)
  • Sundays: tea dance at Flex from 4pm
  • Weekends: drag shows in Legends’ Spotlight Theater
