Baltimore

Port city in Maryland with brick neighbourhoods, theatres and a long pub tradition. The queer scene is small and has grown organically, with some of the oldest gay bars on the East Coast.

The scene

The centre is Mount Vernon around N Charles Street: Leon’s of Baltimore (since 1957), The Drinkery and The Manor are just a few blocks apart. Further north in Charles North is the leather bar Baltimore Eagle.

When to go?

  • June: Baltimore Pride with parade and block party (in Druid Hill Park in 2026)
  • October: Halloween parties, for example at The Manor
