Yokohama

Japan’s second-largest city lies half an hour south of Tokyo and is known for its port and Chinatown. The scene is smaller than in Tokyo and consists of karaoke, mix and drag bars in the districts around Noge and Kannai.

The scene

Most bars are in Naka-ku between Sakuragichō, Hinodechō and Kannai stations, especially in Noge. MONS caters to foreign guests with English and free entry; Bar 1or8 and Bar BE☆ST are karaoke bars for men. You will find a mixed crowd at Quality Mix Bar in Kannai and at mixclub Queen near Yokohama station.

When to go?

  • June: the city’s Pride Month with events at the city hall (1 to 30 June 2026)
  • June: Tokyo Pride in nearby Tokyo with a parade (7 June 2026)
