Le Lavandou

Le Lavandou is a coastal town in the Var with many small coves along the Corniche des Maures. For queer travellers, it is best known for the naturist cove Plage du Layet near Cavalière.

The scene

Plage du Layet is a small naturist cove with a long gay tradition, reached by steps from the coast road. There is no established bar or club scene in the town.

When to go?

  • Summer: swimming season; in July and August the cove is very crowded
