Pattaya is Thailand’s gay party strip – loud, outrageous and in the mood to party around the clock. The scene is split between Boyztown in the centre and the quieter Jomtien Complex in the south.

Boyztown and Jomtien

In Boyztown, around Pattayaland Soi 1 and 3, show bars such as Castro Bar, the go-go institutions Boyz Boyz Boyz and X Boys and the cosy Panorama Pub are crammed together. Here it’s mainly about shows, go-go and plenty of nightlife into the early hours. In the south, on Jomtien Beach, things are more relaxed: M2M Cabaret puts on drag shows in the Jomtien Complex, and Bamboo’s is a nice sundowner stop. Pattaya’s scene is strongly geared towards tourists, and many bars work with go-go dancers.

When to go?

• June – Pattaya International Pride Festival: In 2026 the festival took place from 26 to 28 June on Beach Road (check the 2027 dates with the organiser).
• November to March – high season: In the dry, cooler season Boyztown and Jomtien are at their busiest.

Practical tips

• In go-go bars, drinks for dancers and so-called off fees are customary – agree clear prices beforehand, and don’t sign or pay for anything you don’t understand.
• Prostitution is officially illegal in Thailand, even if it’s visible in Pattaya; pay attention to the age of the person you’re with and to your valuables.
• Baht buses (songthaews) on Beach Road and Second Road are the cheapest connection between Boyztown and Jomtien.
