Bogotá has the largest and most diverse queer scene in Colombia, and almost everything takes place in Chapinero. From a kitsch bar night to a mega-club with more than a dozen floors, anything is possible here.

Chapinero

Around Calle 58 and 59 in Chapinero, the bars are close together. The centrepiece is Theatron, which is considered the largest gay club in Latin America. Pre-drinks happen next door at El Perro y la Calandria, and the bear scene meets at Leos Bar Mística. Things are quieter at Village Café, while techno fans head to Video Club. It is busiest from Thursday to Saturday.

When to go?

  • June – Marcha Distrital del Orgullo: In 2026 the large Pride parade went from Parque Nacional to Plaza de Bolívar on 28 June.
  • June/July – Festival por la Igualdad: In 2026 the city’s cultural festival ran from 13 June to 17 July, with cinema, theatre and parties, including a Pride bazaar at Theatron.

Practical tips

  • At night, only travel by Uber, Cabify or registered taxi, and do not hail a taxi on the street.
  • Never leave drinks unattended, and meet app dates in public places first, as drink spiking happens in Bogotá too.
  • Bogotá lies at 2,600 metres: drink less alcohol on your first evening and bring a jacket, as it gets cool at night.
