Nicosia

Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and the last divided capital in Europe. The queer scene is small but has become more visible in recent years; the national Pride also takes place here.

The scene

One queer meeting point is the bar Ithaki. Nightlife in general is mainly in the old town within the Venetian walls. Many connections are also made via apps and private parties.

When to go

  • June: Cyprus Pride with a march through Nicosia
  • Autumn and spring: pleasant temperatures for city visits; in high summer it gets very hot
