Milwaukee on Lake Michigan is known for its brewing tradition and red-brick architecture. The queer scene is compact and concentrated almost entirely in one neighbourhood.
The scene
Almost all the bars are in Walker’s Point along South 2nd Street and National Avenue, known locally as the “Fruit Loop”. LaCage NiteClub is the big club, DIX and POP focus on drag and DJs, and Walker’s Pint is the last lesbian bar in Wisconsin. The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center moved back to Walker’s Point in 2026.
When to go
- Summer: volleyball leagues at Fat Daddy’s and the annual Walker’s Point Pride Block Party on the volleyball court behind DIX
- Autumn: Scorpio Party at Walker’s Pint and Packers Sundays at Woody’s
