Cartagena enchants with its colonial Old Town and Caribbean way of life, but the gay scene is small and changeable. There are a few clubs, but bars open and close faster here than elsewhere.

Getsemaní & beyond

Most queer venues are outside the touristy Old Town. Avatar Disco Bar and Gabanna in Pie del Cerro are popular with locals, and Roma Club on Avenida Santander thrives on its regulars. Whether The City Club is still open is unclear. During the day, people meet at Playa Hollywood in Bocagrande. For an aperitif, gay-friendly cocktail bars in Getsemaní such as Solar are a good choice.
