Lima

Lima is not an obvious gay metropolis, but behind the scenes in Miraflores a lively, nocturnal scene is buzzing. If you know where to go, you’ll find drag shows, karaoke and clubs where people dance until dawn.

Miraflores and beyond

The centre of the scene is Miraflores: this is home to ValeTodo DownTown, the city’s largest gay club, and the evening starts in a relaxed way at Gay Coffee Bar Lima. For an older, bearish crowd, head to La Cueva in San Borja, while Andel Karaoke Bar in Lince scores with karaoke and drag. In the city centre you’ll find the inexpensive Sagitario Disco and the long-established sauna 240 Club. Lima’s nightlife starts late: there’s rarely much going on in the clubs before midnight.

When to go?

• June – Marcha del Orgullo: Lima’s Pride march took place on 27 June 2026, starting on Avenida de la Peruanidad at Campo de Marte; check the 2027 date with the organiser.
• All year – weekend nights: Friday and Saturday are the big club nights, and it only gets really busy between 1am and 3am.

Practical tips

• At night, take registered taxis or ride-hailing apps, especially on the way to the centre or to San Borja.
• Peru is socially rather conservative: outside Miraflores and Barranco, restraint when holding hands is advisable.
• For clubs, it’s worth checking their social media channels for guest lists that get you cheaper entry before midnight.
