Chișinău is the capital of Moldova, a green city with Soviet architecture and a growing café culture. The queer scene is small and largely sustained by community projects.
The scene
The central venue is the Queer Café on Șoseaua Hîncești, an association-run space with parties, film nights and discussion groups. Beyond that, according to GayOut, there are only a few gay-friendly clubs and bars in the centre with no queer profile.

Practical tips
- Check on Instagram before your visit whether the Queer Café is open
- Keep a low profile in public spaces, as society is conservative
