Guayaquil

Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city and a port metropolis on the Río Guayas, with the Malecón 2000 as a waterfront meeting place. The queer scene is smaller and more local than in Quito and consists mainly of clubs and men’s saunas.

The scene

The partying happens at Club Bunker Discotec north of the centre, usually not until after midnight. In the centre is the men’s sauna Pegasso on Calle Carchi, with Scorpius Spa further north. For most journeys you’ll need a taxi or ride-hailing service.

When to go

  • June: Marcha del Orgullo, on 27 June 2026 from Parque Centenario along Av. 9 de Octubre to the Malecón 2000
  • Weekends: clubs open late, busiest after midnight
