Recife

Recife is the capital of Pernambuco, with a colonial core, rivers and the city beach Boa Viagem. Recife has one of the most active queer scenes in north-eastern Brazil.

The scene

The centre of the scene is Boa Vista: around Rua das Ninfas and Avenida Manoel Borba, Clube Metrópole, Pajubar, Pop House and The Bears are all within walking distance. During the day, people meet on Boa Viagem beach between Posto 9 and 10.

  • February/March: Carnival, when the saunas and clubs are especially busy
