Barcelona combines big-city life, beach and party culture. The centre of the scene is the “Gaixample” in the left-hand part of the Eixample – a grid of streets full of bars, clubs and hotels.
The scene at a glance
Gaixample – most of the bars are around Carrer de Consell de Cent, Muntaner, Diputació and Casanova; this is where the evening begins.
Beaches – lots of queer beachgoers meet at Platja de la Mar Bella.
Good to know
In summer Barcelona celebrates Pride (late June/early July) and the Circuit Festival in August. Sitges is only around 40 minutes away by train. Nights start late: the clubs don’t fill up until after 1am.
